During the Forum, PM Modi drew parallels between T20 cricket and the collaboration between India and Canada. Canada made their second appearance in the T20 World Cup this year, having previously finished fourth in the group stage during their debut in 2024. Despite showing glimpses of potential, Canada faced challenges in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Competing in a tough group with teams like South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates, Canada struggled to secure victories.
Despite demonstrating resilience in certain batting performances, Canada’s inconsistency with both bat and ball proved detrimental. The team’s inability to maintain a steady performance led to their elimination at the group stage, missing out on advancing to the Super Eights round.
