Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during an election rally in Kerala, referred to BJP candidate Anoop Antony Joseph as his close associate who has worked with him for five years. Modi expressed that although he may face personal setbacks in the upcoming election, Kerala stands to benefit. Anoop Antony Joseph, a former National Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, currently serves as a general secretary of the BJP in Kerala.
Modi commended Joseph’s dedication and silent work ethic, highlighting his role in facilitating various initiatives. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Joseph’s contributions to Kerala’s progress, despite any personal losses he might incur. Modi also underscored the developmental efforts of the Central government in Kerala, comparing the aid provided by the NDA government favorably to that during the Congress-led UPA regime.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that Kerala has never had a BJP government but assured continued support for the state’s development. He credited the NDA government for significantly increasing financial assistance to Kerala compared to previous administrations. Modi’s address aimed to showcase Joseph’s capabilities and the potential benefits of his leadership for the state.
