Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a special Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting to assess the actions taken by various Ministries/Departments in response to the West Asia conflict. He emphasized the need for all departments to address the challenges faced by citizens and affected sectors due to the global situation. PM Modi also focused on ensuring the availability of essential resources for the public, particularly discussing fertiliser availability for the upcoming agricultural seasons.
The meeting delved into sectors like energy, agriculture, fertilisers, aviation, shipping, and logistics. Cabinet Secretary provided updates on steps taken to secure the supply of petroleum products, including LNG/LPG, and to maintain sufficient power availability. Efforts to diversify sources for LPG procurement and prevent hoarding and black marketing were highlighted.
In addition to addressing current challenges, initiatives were discussed to tackle emerging issues in various sectors such as agriculture, civil aviation, shipping, and logistics. Measures to ensure fertiliser supply, including coordinating with overseas suppliers and monitoring for black marketing, hoarding, and diversion, were emphasized. The government is actively working to meet the demands and safeguard citizens from the impacts of the ongoing conflict.
