Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the tragic stampede at Mata Sheetla Temple in Nalanda, Bihar, which claimed seven lives and left one person severely injured. The Prime Minister’s Office conveyed condolences to the affected families and announced financial support. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, with Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also expressed sadness over the incident and assured that necessary assistance would be extended to the victims. Choudhary emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the affected families and ensuring proper treatment for the injured individuals. The tragic stampede occurred at Mata Sheetla Temple in the Deepnagar police station area.
Police officials, along with local residents, promptly responded to the situation, initiating rescue operations at the temple premises. Efforts are underway to provide relief and medical aid to the injured, who are being transported to the nearest hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause of the stampede to ascertain the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident.
