Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar to mark Mahavir Jayanti. The museum, located within the Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra campus, showcases the evolution of Jainism through rare artefacts and historical collections. Named after Samrat Samprati, a key figure in Jain tradition, the facility features seven wings focusing on various aspects of India’s civilizational and spiritual heritage.
The museum offers a chronological journey illustrating the cultural impact and evolution of Jainism. PM Modi toured the galleries post-inauguration, exploring exhibits like stone and metal idols, miniature paintings, silver chariots, coins, and ancient manuscripts. With over 2,000 rare artefacts on display, the museum preserves centuries-old relics and traditional collections associated with Jain philosophy and practice.
Combining traditional displays with modern digital installations, the museum aims to provide an immersive experience for visitors, researchers, and scholars. PM Modi highlighted the museum’s significance, emphasizing its portrayal of India’s history, culture, and Jain heritage. The facility aims to deepen visitors’ understanding of Jainism’s rich historical, cultural, and spiritual legacy over time.
The inauguration at Koba was part of PM Modi’s engagements in Gujarat, where he participated in various programs throughout the day.
