Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Seva Teerth,’ the new Prime Minister’s Office, emphasizing its role in national service and citizen empowerment over a display of power. The first Union Cabinet meeting was held at Seva Tirtha on an auspicious day, where historic decisions benefiting the country were made. Built on Swadeshi principles and the potential of 140 crore citizens, Seva Tirtha is envisioned to advance the sacred duty of national service continuously.
The Prime Minister hailed Seva Tirtha as a symbol of New India’s progress, transitioning from the traditional Prime Minister’s Office in South Block to a modern representation of India’s rich heritage and limitless capabilities. The site’s historical significance, replacing temporary barracks from the British era, signifies the transformation towards a New India. Constitutional values will underpin the work culture at Seva Tirtha, ensuring governance aligned with dignity, equality, and justice for all citizens.
Emphasizing the principle of “Nagrik Devo Bhava” (citizen is like God), the Cabinet pledged to prioritize simplifying the lives of every individual and fostering a transparent, sensitive, and accountable governance model. The focus remains on serving the common man and upholding values that resonate with the ethos of the nation.
