Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to speak at a public gathering on Sunday at 4:15 p.m. in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections. The event, named ‘Bijoy Sankalpa Sabha,’ will take place at the Ras Mela Grounds, marking the beginning of an aggressive outreach in a region crucial for the BJP.
The West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, with 294 seats, are set to be conducted in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with vote counting on May 4. This rally will be PM Modi’s first election meeting in the state since the announcement of the poll dates, emphasizing the party’s focus on the region.
PM Modi has previously addressed public gatherings at the Ras Mela Grounds on three occasions, during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the 2021 West Bengal Assembly polls, and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Following this rally, senior BJP leaders will conduct public meetings, roadshows, and organizational events across West Bengal as part of the party’s efforts to secure a strong mandate.
