The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), under Anbumani Ramadoss’s leadership, has officially become part of the alliance led by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) for the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. This decision was announced by Edappadi Palaniswami, the General Secretary of AIADMK and Leader of Opposition, after extensive discussions in Chennai.
Anbumani Ramadoss met with Palaniswami at his Chennai residence on Greenways Road, where they discussed the alliance’s structure, coordination for the elections, and the seat-sharing framework for 2026. Following their meeting, both leaders jointly briefed the media, confirming PMK’s entry into the AIADMK-led front.
Palaniswami mentioned that AIADMK remains part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the national level, while PMK has now joined the AIADMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu. He expressed positivity towards PMK’s inclusion, emphasizing that the alliance was established through mutual understanding between the two parties. Discussions on seat-sharing are nearing completion, with a formal announcement expected once finalized.
