The police in East Delhi have apprehended two individuals and confiscated illegal weapons, ammunition, and a vehicle in a proactive operation. This action, conducted by the Special Staff of the East District, aimed at preventing a potential criminal incident. The arrests followed real-time intelligence gathered through social media monitoring and ground inputs.
The suspects, identified as Vishal alias Tussu (20) from Trilokpuri and Anurag alias Budhi (21) from Kalyanpuri, were intercepted by the police team in the Pandav Nagar area. They were caught while driving a car with suspected criminal intentions, leading to the recovery of a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, and a button-actuated knife. The white car they were using was also impounded.
The operation’s significance lies in averting a possible threat to public safety by recovering illegal firearms, ammunition, and a vehicle. The swift action by the Special Staff prevented a potential criminal incident, showcasing the importance of surveillance and intelligence-based policing. A case has been filed under the Arms Act at Pandav Nagar police station, with ongoing investigations to ascertain the suspects’ involvement in other criminal activities.
Efforts are underway to identify the source of the illegal weapons and dismantle the supply network. The police team, under Inspector Jitendra Malik and ACP Pawan Kumar’s supervision, utilized digital monitoring and ground intelligence to track the suspects. The team, comprising Sub Inspector Aman, Head Constable Vineet, HC Vishal, HC Naresh, and Constable Sanoj, is actively pursuing the case.
