Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district have apprehended five drug peddlers and confiscated a significant amount of narcotics. The arrests were made following a crackdown on drug-related activities in the region. During the operations, various individuals were found in possession of illicit substances, leading to their immediate arrest.
In one instance, a raid at the residence of Fayaz Ahmad Dar resulted in the recovery of nearly 4 kilograms of a powdery substance resembling charas. Fayaz Ahmad Dar and his son Arbaz Ahmad Dar were taken into custody on the spot. A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
Separately, two individuals, Shahzada Suvaid and Waris-ul-Islam, were found carrying around 488 grams of a charas-like substance during a police checkpoint. They were promptly arrested, and a case has been filed against them under the NDPS Act.
Furthermore, another individual, Sajad Ahmad Shah, was intercepted by the police near Anantnag bypass, where a significant amount of charas-like substance was seized from his possession. The authorities have registered a case against him as well. The law enforcement agencies in Jammu and Kashmir are actively conducting operations to combat drug trafficking and related illegal activities.
