In a recent operation in north Delhi, police uncovered a significant stash of illegally stored LPG cylinders and apprehended a suspect. Led by Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range, Vijay Singh, and supervised by DCP, Outer North District, Hareshwar Swami, the crackdown aimed to curb unauthorized LPG storage and distribution to uphold public safety. The police team, acting on specific intelligence, seized 75 LPG cylinders, both filled and empty, from various locations in the Bawana area.
The operation, conducted by the police station Bawana in the Outer North District, targeted the illegal storage and transportation of LPG cylinders. Following a tip-off, a police team, under the supervision of SHO, Bawana, Gaurav Singh, and ACP, Bawana, Joginder Singh, intercepted a pickup vehicle suspected of carrying unlawfully transported LPG cylinders. The driver, identified as Anil, failed to produce valid documents for the cylinders, leading to the discovery of 27 cylinders in the vehicle and 48 more in nearby premises.
The accused, Anil, disclosed the presence of additional cylinders stored in nearby locations, leading to the recovery of a total of 75 LPG cylinders of various brands. These cylinders, both domestic and commercial, were found to be stored without proper safety measures or legal authorization, posing a significant risk due to the flammable nature of LPG. A case has been registered at PS Bawana under relevant laws, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the supply source, distribution network, and potential involvement of others in the illegal activities.
