A political storm hit Bihar’s Gopalganj district when police conducted a high-intensity raid at the residence of JD(U) MLA Amarendra Kumar Pandey, also known as Pappu Pandey. Led by Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari, the operation took place at his ancestral home in Tulsia village under Hathua. The raid was in response to an FIR filed at Kuchaikote police station, alleging serious land grabbing through forged documents.
Two special police teams simultaneously carried out the raid, causing panic in the area and creating ripples in political circles. Despite an extensive search of the premises, MLA Amarendra Kumar Pandey and his brother, Satish Pandey, managed to evade arrest before the teams’ arrival. The situation escalated further when arrest warrants were issued against the MLA, his brother, and their Chartered Accountant, Rahul Tiwari, based on evidence linking them to illegal land transactions and alleged ties to the land mafia.
The FIR accuses the MLA of shielding the land mafia and aiding them in fraudulent land deals using forged paperwork. This development has attracted close scrutiny from higher police authorities due to the severity of the allegations. Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari confirmed that multiple raids are ongoing, with dedicated teams actively pursuing the accused who are on the run. Police officials have indicated that arrests are imminent, signaling a significant crackdown on the alleged illegal activities.
Amarendra Kumar Pandey, a four-time MLA from Kuchaikote known for his influence in the region, may face legal repercussions despite his political stature. The unfolding events have injected a new dynamic into Bihar’s political landscape, with Opposition parties expected to heighten their criticism of the ruling alliance in the days ahead.
