The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) marked its 11th anniversary, aiding numerous small entrepreneurs in realizing their aspirations and fostering their progress. One success story is that of Deepak Kumar from Jharkhand, who transformed his modest shop into a thriving business with a ₹5 lakh loan obtained through the scheme in 2018. His shop, ‘Poonam Dhaga-Button,’ now stands as a respected establishment in the local community.
Deepak Kumar attributes his achievements to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s forward-thinking leadership and supportive policies for small traders. By securing a loan from the Bank of India under the Mudra Scheme and repaying it promptly, he overcame the common challenge of collateral requirements for small businesses.
The scheme has also benefitted others like Ashok Prasad and Rajni Devi, who expanded their businesses in kitchenware and worship materials, respectively. Ashok Prasad highlighted how the Mudra loan enabled him to overcome capital constraints and enhance his shop’s offerings. Similarly, Rajni Devi shared how her business flourished after utilizing the scheme, leading to financial stability for her family and growth opportunities.
