Preparations for the Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 have started in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. The endowments minister, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, initiated various development works by laying the foundation stone. These works, valued at Rs 9.55 crore, are part of Phase I in Rajamahendravaram.
MP Daggubati Purandeswari, MLA Adireddy Srinivas, MLC Somu Veerraju, and others joined the minister for the groundbreaking ceremonies. The renovation of temples in preparation for the Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 has begun ahead of the event scheduled to commence on June 26, 2027. Funds totaling Rs 51.79 crore have been allocated for the development of 43 temples across East Godavari, West Godavari, and Konaseema districts.
The minister emphasized the significance of the Pushkarams event as a matter of state pride. With an expected attendance of around 10 crore devotees from India and abroad, comprehensive infrastructure facilities are being arranged. Plans are in progress to facilitate holy dips in the Godavari River over a 212-kilometre stretch, covering multiple districts.
With the backing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Godavari Pushkarams are set to be successfully organized from June 26 to July 7. State-level meetings have been conducted to plan for the event, with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu overseeing the preparations. The minister expressed delight in initiating development works for endowment institutions in Rajamahendravaram, costing Rs 9.55 crore.
