President Droupadi Murmu visited Ahmedabad as part of her official two-day trip to Gujarat. She had earlier attended the convocation ceremony at AIIMS Rajkot, where she awarded degrees to the first MBBS batch graduates. Upon her arrival in Ahmedabad, she received a warm welcome from Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
Senior state officials, including Health Minister Praful Pansheriya and Chief Secretary M.K. Das, were also present to greet President Murmu. Her visit to Gujarat focuses on various engagements related to education, institutional development, and commemorative events. President Murmu is set to participate in official programs, including the ‘Samajik Samrasta Mahotsava’ in Gandhinagar on B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.
She will also preside over the convocation ceremony at Rashtriya Raksha University in Gandhinagar, where students from different disciplines will receive degrees. Security has been heightened in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar to ensure the smooth conduct of the President’s movements and scheduled events, with senior police and administrative officials overseeing coordination.
