Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon citizens to engage with the ‘Gyan Bharatam App’, a digital platform by the Ministry of Culture aimed at preserving India’s vast manuscript heritage. This initiative, part of the Gyan Bharatam Mission, seeks to create a digital repository of manuscript collections nationwide. During his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program, PM Modi highlighted the importance of public involvement in the ‘Gyan Bharatam Survey’ to document the country’s cultural and historical manuscripts.
Users can contribute to the survey through the Gyan Bharatam App by sharing manuscripts and related information. PM Modi expressed gratitude for the thousands of manuscripts already shared, including those in Tai and Gurumukhi scripts from regions like Arunachal Pradesh and Amritsar. Various institutions have also contributed ancient manuscripts, such as those on palm leaves and copper plates, showcasing the diverse heritage of India.
The Prime Minister informed that the survey will run until mid-June, encouraging everyone to participate and showcase their cultural heritage through this platform.
