He mentioned that 2025 marked a significant year for India’s continuous reform journey, focusing on modernizing institutions and fostering inclusive growth. PM Modi highlighted various reforms, including GST 2.0, income tax changes benefiting the middle class, and expanding the definition of small companies to ease compliance burdens.
The Prime Minister also pointed out reforms in the insurance sector, securities market, and maritime legislations. He highlighted the scrapping of outdated laws through Jan Vishwas and the simplification of documentation processes. Additionally, PM Modi mentioned labor law reforms aimed at securing workers’ interests while enhancing the business environment and ensuring fair wages and social security.
PM Modi further discussed trade deals with New Zealand, Oman, and the UK, emphasizing their potential to boost investments and job creation. He also highlighted the operationalization of the FTA with the European Free Trade Association. The Prime Minister underscored the SHANTI Act’s significance in promoting clean energy and technology advancements, creating opportunities for private sector participation and youth engagement in frontier technologies.
Moreover, PM Modi mentioned the Viksit Bharat-G RAM G Act, 2025, aimed at enhancing rural employment opportunities and infrastructure development. He also noted the introduction of the Education Reforms Bill to establish a unified higher education regulator. The Prime Minister emphasized that the 2025 reforms prioritize collaboration, facilitation, and empathy towards various sectors, guided by consultation and data.
