Filmmaker Priyadarshan addressed accusations of using a line from the song ‘Bhuter Raja Dilo Bor’ in his upcoming movie ‘Bhooth Bangla’. The song ‘Ram Ji Bhala Karein’ in ‘Bhooth Bangla’ includes a line from the award-winning Bengali film ‘Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne’ by Satyajit Ray. Priyadarshan defended the song, emphasizing that the word used is common and not exclusive to any particular creator.
Priyadarshan, speaking at the trailer launch of ‘Bhooth Bangla’, expressed his admiration for Satyajit Ray and clarified the usage of the song’s lyrics. He highlighted that the word in question is generic and not restricted to a single source. The director explained that the context of the film justifies the lyrics and cited the existence of a previous film with a similar title.
‘Bhooth Bangla’ features a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and others. The film, presented by Balaji Motion Pictures and directed by Priyadarshan, is set to hit theaters on April 16, 2026.
