Sunil Thapa, a veteran Nepali actor, passed away in Kathmandu at the age of 68. Hospital sources reported that he was admitted in critical condition and succumbed to a suspected cardiac arrest following an ECG. The President of Nepal’s Film Artists Association confirmed Thapa’s demise due to a cardiac issue and awaited his family from Mumbai for the final rites.
Nepal’s Prime Minister, Sushila Karki, expressed condolences over Thapa’s death, highlighting his significant contributions to both Nepali and Indian cinema. Thapa, who initially pursued a modeling career in Mumbai, transitioned to acting and was also known for his involvement in sports, including professional football in Bombay.
