International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah, former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, his wife Sakshi Dhoni, Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 ambassador Rohit Sharma were among the notable figures present at the Wankhede Stadium for the semi-final match between India and England. Dhoni and Sakshi were seen in the VVIP box, while Rohit shared a moment with Dhoni and was accompanied by his wife, Ritika Sajdeh.
Bollywood celebrities like Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Tripti Dimri, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and their child Raha, were also in attendance. KL Rahul sat alongside his brother-in-law, actor Ahaan Shetty. Nita Ambani, owner of Mumbai Indians, was spotted cheering for Team India with her family members Akash Ambani, Shloka Mehta, and Radhika Merchant.
On the field, India performed impressively with the bat. Sanju Samson’s 89 off 42 balls, Ishan Kishan’s 39, Shivam Dube’s 43, Tilak Varma’s quick 21 off 7 balls, and Hardik Pandya’s 27 off 12 balls contributed to India’s competitive total of 254 runs. This became India’s highest score in a T20 World Cup knockout game and the fourth-highest overall in the tournament.
