Punjab Hosts Defence Skills Conclave to Boost Manufacturing Capabilities

In a move to enhance Punjab’s role in India’s defense manufacturing, the state government organized a Defense Skills Conclave. The event, led by Minister Aman Arora, aimed to develop skills for defense, aerospace, and strategic sectors. Key attendees included Union Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and various industry leaders and experts.

Minister Arora emphasized Punjab’s historical contributions to defense and the need for advanced skills in modern warfare. The state government’s goal is to not only produce soldiers but also skilled professionals for self-reliance in defense manufacturing. Collaborating with industry and educational institutions, Punjab aims to bridge skill gaps in the defense sector.

Union Defense Secretary Singh praised Punjab’s potential in defense manufacturing and highlighted the importance of a strong skill ecosystem. Punjab’s Chief Secretary Sinha assured support for investments in the defense sector to enhance national security and create employment opportunities. The conclave aimed to drive innovation and self-reliance in India’s defense industry through collaboration and partnerships.
