Punjab Cabinet ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora, and Harbhajan Singh ETO strongly criticized the Congress for boycotting the Governor’s Address, calling it an insult to the House and the state’s parliamentary traditions. They accused the Congress of resorting to disruptive behavior in the House to divert attention from the state’s progress.
Cheema highlighted the Congress government’s legacy in Punjab, accusing it of fostering mafias instead of focusing on the state’s development. He praised the current AAP Government for prioritizing fiscal discipline and genuine progress, predicting a significant defeat for the Congress in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.
The ministers condemned the Congress for its conduct in the House, emphasizing the lack of respect for constitutional norms. They also criticized the Congress for its treatment of the Dalit community, particularly citing the disrespectful behavior towards Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO.
Aman Arora, the AAP state President and Cabinet minister, described the Congress’s actions in the Vidhan Sabha as a shameful attack on democratic traditions. He lamented the Congress’s decision to boycott the Governor’s address, labeling it as a direct insult to the state’s parliamentary traditions that have been upheld for 75 years.
