In a significant development, Punjab Police, along with central agencies, dismantled an ISI-sponsored Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror group. The operation led to the apprehension of two individuals, Akash Masih and Jablaun, from Gurdaspur, known for their criminal backgrounds.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav disclosed that the arrests resulted in the seizure of explosives and devices, including hand grenades, detonators, and an improvised explosive device. These findings suggest the group was planning high-impact terror activities to disrupt public peace in the state.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Sandeep Goel revealed that the terror module, supported by the ISI, was controlled by foreign-based handlers. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and identify local accomplices.

Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya shared that the suspects were intercepted during a police check, where they were found in possession of explosive materials. The timely intervention of forensic and bomb disposal teams averted a potential disaster, with the explosives safely neutralized.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Explosive Substances Act, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and the swift action taken by law enforcement authorities.
