A day after Bihar Police arrested Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, in a 1995 forgery case, he was admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital due to health issues. The arrest of the MP triggered a dramatic situation at his residence in Patna, with police teams facing resistance from his supporters. The court had ordered the attachment of property against three accused, including Pappu Yadav, in a case related to fraudulent renting of a house and issuing threats.
According to official sources, the MP-MLA Special Court took action as the accused repeatedly failed to appear before the court despite arrest warrants and proclamations. The case, dating back to 1995, involves allegations of misusing a rented house by presenting it as an office of a Member of Parliament. Pappu Yadav, during his arrest, accused the police of high-handedness and claimed that he was being targeted for political reasons.
Pappu Yadav alleged that the police forcibly entered his house without showing any document, despite his request for time to consult his lawyer. He expressed concerns about his safety and appealed to several authorities to intervene in his situation. While the MP requested house arrest and assured his appearance in court, police officials emphasized that they were following court orders strictly. The situation remained tense until the completion of legal formalities by the police.
