Srikanth won with a scoreline of 21-15, 21-23, 24-22. Despite facing challenges in the second and third games, Srikanth’s aggressive play and key moments helped him secure the win. He is set to face fourth seed Chou Tien Chen in the second round.
Indian shuttlers Anmol Kharb and Aakarshi Kashyap advanced to the women’s singles main draw after notable victories in the qualifying rounds. However, Aakarshi was eliminated in the main draw opener after losing three games, while Kiran George faced defeat in straight games in his men’s singles opener. Additionally, the mixed doubles teams of Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto and Rohan Kapoor/Ruthvika Shivani Gadde were knocked out in the first round by French pairs.
