Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has safely returned home after being stranded in Dubai for three days due to flight disruptions caused by tensions in West Asia. Sindhu, who was en route to the All England Open in Birmingham, expressed gratitude towards the ground teams, Dubai authorities, and airport staff for their care during the challenging situation. Despite missing the tournament, Sindhu is relieved to be back in Bangalore and is focusing on rest and planning her next steps.
Sindhu had shared her distressing experience from Dubai, mentioning the tense atmosphere due to nearby interceptions and explosions. While Sindhu missed the All England Open, other badminton players managed to reach Birmingham without any travel disruptions.
The West Indies cricket team’s departure from India has been delayed due to international airspace restrictions following their exit from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The team is currently safe in India, with Windies Cricket ensuring close monitoring of the situation and working on safe travel arrangements.
Similarly, the Zimbabwe cricket team’s return home from India has also been delayed due to air travel disruptions caused by the Middle East crisis. Zimbabwe Cricket is awaiting ICC’s contingency measures for alternative travel arrangements.
