Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, initiated the ‘Run for Ambedkar, Run for Constitution’ marathon at New Delhi’s Mandi House, attracting a large crowd. The event, organized by the All India Congress Committee SC Department in collaboration with its OBC Department, saw active participation from Congress members. He highlighted the need to safeguard the Constitution from misinterpretation and distortion. Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda described the marathon as a mission to advance Ambedkar’s ideals nationwide, aiming to shield the Constitution from government threats.
Congress leader Udit Raj noted the significant turnout of Ambedkarite supporters and party workers at the event. He expressed concerns over the weakening of the Constitution, the suppression of public voices, and the challenges faced by constitutional institutions.
