Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, initiated the ‘Run for Ambedkar, Run for the Constitution’ marathon in New Delhi. He emphasized the importance of defending the Constitution against those seeking to undermine it. Gandhi accused individuals linked to the BJP and RSS of attempting to weaken the Constitution, contrasting this with Congress’s commitment to upholding Ambedkar’s principles of equality.

The event, organized by the All India Congress Committee Scheduled Caste Department in collaboration with its OBC Department, drew significant participation from Congress leaders and supporters. Former Indian cricket captain and Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin, now a Minister in the Telangana government, also stressed the need to uphold constitutional values during the event.

Various senior leaders, including Chairman of the AICC Scheduled Castes Department Rajendra Pal Gautam, were in attendance. The marathon aimed to promote unity and honor Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy as the architect of India’s Constitution, amidst concerns of misinterpretation and distortion of constitutional values.
