A joint team of local administration and police in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, conducted raids on spa centres in the Civil Lines police station area. This action followed complaints of immoral activities and violations of licensing norms. The operation, directed by Superintendent of Police Somendra Meena, involved coordinated efforts by police and municipal authorities.
The inspection drive, led by SHO Omkar Singh, included officials from the City Magistrate, Municipal Council, Fire Service, Mission Shakti team, and Civil Lines police station. Its purpose was to check compliance with regulations and investigate suspicious activities at spa and massage centres. Several establishments were found operating without necessary approvals like No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and other licenses.
During the raids, spa centres such as Rose Therapy Spa Centre, Gold Classic Spa and Salon, Golden Hands Spa Centre, Mango Spa Centre, and Priyanka Leaf Spa Parlour Centre were inspected. These centres, located in different parts of the Civil Lines area, were ordered to shut down immediately due to licensing violations. While no objectionable material or illegal activities were discovered, the administration is monitoring the centres to ensure compliance with regulations.
Questions have arisen regarding the effectiveness of the operation amid allegations of advance information leaks. Authorities, however, have denied these claims and emphasized that actions were based on verified complaints. Police have warned spa operators to comply with legal requirements, promising continued strict monitoring. The administration may conduct further inspections to regulate establishments and address public concerns in the area.
