The Rajasthan Assembly is scheduled to approve the state Budget for the financial year 2026–27 on Friday evening, with the expectation of new announcements during the final debate. The Appropriation Bill will be discussed after Zero Hour and deliberated upon throughout the day in the Assembly. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will respond to the Budget debate at 5 pm, following an address by Leader of the Opposition Tika Ram Jully.
Sources suggest that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is likely to unveil various announcements during his response, including details on new government job opportunities and district-specific development projects. Sectors not covered in the primary Budget speech may also receive attention on this day. It is anticipated that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will announce new roads, bridges, and rural infrastructure projects to cater to local development needs.
In light of the upcoming civic body and panchayat elections, the Rajasthan government might introduce schemes focused on villages and cities. The early passage of the Budget, almost a month before the new financial year commences, is expected to provide ample time for government departments to kickstart preparatory work and ensure the timely execution of proposed schemes. Meanwhile, the Opposition Congress party is likely to raise concerns about one of its MLAs allegedly being barred from speaking in the House by the Speaker.
During the debate on demands for grants on February 26, Congress MLA Shravan Kumar was reportedly halted by the Speaker, leading to a significant commotion in the House. Subsequently, the Congress party abstained from the Assembly proceedings that evening. At a Congress Legislature Party meeting, leaders have strategized and decided to revisit the issue in the House. Party workers anticipate another intense confrontation in the Assembly.
