Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the crucial role of precise census data in the success of development initiatives and public welfare programs. He emphasized that accurate data aids in effective planning and execution for both Central and State Governments. Sharma underlined the constitutional and national obligation of conducting the census with utmost dedication.
The Chief Minister addressed a state-level training conference for Census-2027, emphasizing the significance of precise house listing and enumeration in ensuring reliable individual counts in subsequent phases. He pointed out that census data acts as a measure of development progress and assists in identifying future needs. Sharma stressed that reliable data offers insights into the requirements of individuals and families in rural and urban areas, including access to basic amenities like electricity, water, roads, and healthcare facilities.
Sharma warned against the repercussions of inaccurate data, which can lead to inadequate planning and ineffective implementation of government policies. He also highlighted the critical role of census data in constituency demarcation, resource distribution, and allocation of grants and aid. The Chief Minister announced the integration of extensive digital technology in the upcoming census, allowing citizens to self-enumerate from May 1 to May 15, 2026. He emphasized the necessity of comprehensive training for all personnel involved to ensure transparent and high-quality data collection.
