Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that women possess the ability to excel in governance, citing their proficiency in managing households as evidence. Speaking at an event at his residence, he praised the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ (Women’s Reservation Act) passed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
The legislation mandates one-third reservation for women in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies, aiming to boost their involvement in policymaking. CM Sharma highlighted that this move is crucial for women’s active participation in realizing India’s development vision by 2047.
He encouraged women to raise awareness about the Act and noted various government schemes benefiting women, such as Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao. The Chief Minister also outlined Rajasthan’s initiatives supporting women in diverse fields like sports, entrepreneurship, and education, aiming to enhance their socio-economic status.
Sharma detailed projects like the Nari Shakti Udyam Protsahan Yojana promoting women entrepreneurship and the Kalika Patrolling Unit ensuring women’s safety. He highlighted the state’s development efforts, including the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit attracting significant investments and infrastructure projects like the Jaipur Metro Phase 2 for improved transportation options.
Women attending the event received information on government schemes for empowerment, with representatives from various sectors like women and child development, industry bodies, education, and healthcare participating.
