The School Education Department of Rajasthan unveiled the District Academic Rankings for January 2026, evaluating districts based on academic outcomes, school operations, and governance indicators. Jhunjhunu and Hanumangarh clinched the top spots in the latest rankings, with Churu making significant progress to secure the third position. The assessment criteria include student attendance, classroom teaching quality, field visit monitoring, and student performance in academic assessments.
The district ranking system now incorporates academic learning outcomes, emphasizing Competency-Based Assessments (CBA), Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) assessments, and board exam results. This shift ensures that district rankings reflect both administrative efficiency and academic impact on students. Monthly reviews chaired by the Principal Secretary, School Education Department, analyze district rankings and parameter-wise scores, identifying gaps and setting actionable goals.
Sikar, Bharatpur, and Khairthal-Tijara claimed the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions, respectively, while Banswara and Jaisalmer ranked lower. The district ranking mechanism aims to enhance transparency and accountability in the education sector by linking learning outcomes to rankings. Officials stress the importance of data-driven decision-making and a focus on improving learning outcomes through technology, teacher training, and innovation.
