Under the impact of an active Western Disturbance, various parts of Rajasthan are currently experiencing strong winds, rainfall, and hailstorms. The Jaipur Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for multiple districts, including Jaipur, warning of severe weather conditions. Expect light to moderate rainfall, thunder, lightning, and strong winds gusting at 40-50 km/hour in districts like Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Phalodi, and others.
A yellow alert has been issued for regions such as Hanumangarh, Barmer, Churu, and more, where light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and isolated hailstorms are expected. Unseasonal rain and strong winds have caused damage to crops in Jaisalmer district, particularly affecting crops like cumin and isabgol. Rainfall activity has been ongoing in parts of Nagaur district, with hailstorms reported in Degana and drizzle in Didwana.
Jaipur and surrounding areas are witnessing cool winds and light rain, with dropping temperatures across districts like Bikaner and Jaisalmer. The Meteorological Centre forecasts 20-50 mm of rainfall in several areas, with the current weather system expected to last until Wednesday. Conditions are likely to improve starting April 9, according to Meteorological Centre Director Radheshyam Sharma.
Jaipur has seen intermittent rainfall, leading to a slight drop in temperatures. In Bikaner, thunder and cool winds started early in the morning, followed by rain and heavy showers. Border districts like Sri Ganganagar have also experienced changing weather conditions, including intermittent rain, strong winds, and lightning, creating a noticeable chill in the air.
