The Rajasthan government recently made changes in its bureaucracy by transferring five IAS officers and canceling the transfer of one individual. Siddharth Mahajan has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), a significant administrative role in the state capital. Anandi, the former JDA Commissioner, has been reassigned as the Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
Rakesh Sharma, who served as Additional Commissioner of the JDA, has been moved to the Information and Public Relations Department as Commissioner and Joint Secretary. This shift aims to bolster the government’s communication and outreach efforts. Manju Rajpal, a senior IAS officer, has been relieved of her role in the Cooperation department and appointed as Principal Secretary of Agriculture and Horticulture, along with being assigned as Chairperson of the State Seed Corporation.
Furthermore, Babulal Goyal, the former Commissioner of the Devasthan Department, has been designated as Secretary in the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission. Notably, the government has reversed the transfer of Om Prakash Bairwa, allowing him to remain as the College Education Commissioner. Siddharth Mahajan’s appointment as JDA Commissioner is seen as a strategic move due to his extensive experience in both state and central administrations, which is expected to enhance urban development projects in Jaipur.
