Rajasthan Royals’ young opener, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, is determined to assist the team in clinching the IPL trophy, a feat they have not achieved since their victory in the inaugural season of 2008.
In the 2025 IPL season, Sooryavanshi impressed with a 35-ball century and accumulated 252 runs in seven matches for RR. As he enters IPL 2026, he carries the accolades of being named Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament in India’s U19 World Cup triumph this year.
Sooryavanshi expressed his primary focus on winning the trophy for the team this season. He emphasized that team success would naturally bring attention to both his and the team’s performances, making it a crucial goal for him.
Reflecting on his journey from the Bihar set-up to higher levels of cricket, Sooryavanshi credited his childhood idols Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh for inspiring his aggressive batting style. He highlighted the importance of making significant contributions to matches, a trait he admired in Lara and Singh.
