Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) head coach Andy Flower expressed confidence in his team’s ability to adjust to new conditions as they gear up for their first away match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Rajasthan Royals at Barsapara Stadium. Flower emphasized RCB’s pride in adapting their game to different conditions, irrespective of the venue. He stressed the importance of adaptability, a quality that the team values highly and aims to maintain consistently.
RCB had a remarkable performance in away games last season, achieving a historic feat by winning all seven matches on the road. This success culminated in RCB clinching their maiden IPL title. Flower also anticipated an exciting match ahead, foreseeing aggressive batting displays from both teams. He commended the team’s powerplay bowling unit for their strong performance, particularly highlighting the impressive contributions of Jacob Duffy, who is making his IPL debut this season.
Despite the absence of key pacer Josh Hazlewood, Flower praised the team’s bowling unit for their efforts during the powerplay overs. He specifically mentioned Duffy’s exceptional performance, having taken five crucial wickets in his first two IPL games, including top-order dismissals. Flower lauded Duffy’s seamless transition into the IPL and RCB setup, describing his impact as highly effective. Duffy himself expressed satisfaction with his form, enjoying the tournament and celebrating consecutive victories for RCB.
Looking ahead, RCB faces a formidable challenge against Rajasthan Royals, who currently lead the IPL 2026 standings with three consecutive wins against Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Mumbai Indians.
