Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have won the toss and chosen to field first against Delhi Capitals in the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) final at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara. RCB, the 2024 WPL champions, are eyeing their second title, while DC, three-time runners-up, are eager to secure their first championship win. RCB advanced to the final as table-toppers, while DC made it after defeating Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator.

RCB captain Smriti Mandhana expressed the team’s readiness for the final, emphasizing the importance of embracing nerves and excitement. She highlighted the team’s preparation and mindset going into the crucial match. Mandhana stressed the significance of maintaining simplicity and calmness amidst the high excitement levels.

DC skipper Jemimah Rodrigues acknowledged the toss outcome but remained positive about their strategy. She mentioned the team’s focus on simplicity and familiarity with the pitch due to the previous match. Rodrigues emphasized the importance of sticking to their plans and staying prepared for the final showdown.

The final match will take place on pitch number five, with shorter boundaries expected to benefit the batters. Former New Zealand women’s keeper Katey Martin noted the dimensions of the boundaries and highlighted the potential advantage for batsmen. She also pointed out that bowlers could still find assistance if they hit consistent areas, as demonstrated by DC’s Chinelle Henry in the Eliminator.
