The Regional Passport Office in Bhopal has initiated a unique outreach program to enhance accessibility for differently abled individuals seeking passport services. This pioneering effort includes Braille-based materials and sign language-enabled digital resources, setting a new standard among Regional Passport Offices nationwide. Braille booklets have been created to provide visually impaired applicants with detailed information on passport services, covering various application categories, document requirements, and procedural guidelines.
Expanding its inclusivity measures, the office has also installed Braille signage plates to aid visually impaired visitors in navigating the premises independently. Additionally, a series of informational videos in sign language have been introduced for applicants with speech and hearing impairments. These videos elucidate the entire passport application process, from biometric enrollment to document verification, and include QR codes for direct access to online resources.
The inauguration of this initiative took place recently in the presence of key officials, emphasizing the commitment to making public services inclusive for all segments of society. By integrating tactile and digital tools, the office aims to eliminate obstacles faced by differently abled applicants, enhancing their overall service experience. This move underscores the government’s dedication to citizen-centric governance, ensuring that essential services like passports are accessible to all applicants.
