After a Rs 60 increase in the price of domestic LPG cylinders, residents in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra are worried about the impact on their household budgets and daily expenses. Many residents feel that the rise in prices will particularly affect middle-class and lower-income families, as cooking gas is considered an essential commodity. Anupama from Delhi mentioned that global events might be influencing the price surge but hoped for government intervention to address the situation.
Some residents emphasized the crucial role of LPG in daily life, stating that it is a basic necessity for cooking in every household. Concerns were also raised about the financial strain on middle-class families, with one resident expressing the challenges faced in managing livelihoods. In Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur, a businessman highlighted the difficulties arising from the continuous price hikes, affecting people’s lives due to the disparity between low incomes and increasing expenses.
Residents in Ayodhya echoed similar worries, citing the additional financial burdens posed by the escalating LPG prices. Despite the challenges, using cooking gas remains unavoidable for many households, leading to increased financial pressure. The residents emphasized that even a slight price increase significantly impacts household expenses, urging the government to provide support to economically weaker sections. In Mumbai, Maharashtra, a woman expressed concerns about the heightened financial strain on families already grappling with economic challenges.
