Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov is set to visit New Delhi for a two-day official trip to India. He will meet with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval during his visit. Additionally, Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the General Council of the Edinaya Rossia Party and First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, will also be in India from April 2-4 to discuss cooperation between the two countries’ parliamentary bodies.
Yakushev’s agenda includes meetings with EAM Jaishankar and Indian parliamentarians to address various issues concerning Russian-Indian inter-parliamentary relations, trade, economy, and cultural cooperation. Earlier, EAM Jaishankar engaged in talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko in New Delhi to enhance bilateral cooperation and discuss regional and global developments.
India and Russia recently conducted Foreign Office Consultations to review their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, focusing on bilateral, regional, and global matters of mutual interest. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Rudenko led these consultations, emphasizing the importance of the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Rudenko expressed Moscow’s anticipation of a bilateral summit later this year, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to visit Russia. He highlighted the significance of maintaining consistent communication between Russia and India at various levels to strengthen their relationship.
