Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom has initiated the evacuation of its staff from the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev confirmed that 198 employees are being moved by bus towards the Iranian-Armenian border for safety.
Likhachev expressed hope for the safe return of the staff to Russia within two to three days, emphasizing the cooperation between Iran and Armenia to secure the evacuation route. The Russian nuclear specialists will depart from Yerevan airport, ensuring their departure from the region.
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran reported an attack near the Bushehr nuclear plant, resulting in the death of a security worker. This incident marks the fourth attack since the US-Israeli strikes on Iran began in late February. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, condemned the strike and emphasized Iran’s pursuit of a peaceful resolution to the conflict imposed by the US and Israel.
