Actress Sameera Reddy recently reminisced about her first-ever song shoot by posting a throwback photo on social media. The picture is from the filming of the ‘Thoda Sa Pyar Hua Hai’ song in the 2002 movie “Maine Dil Tujhko Diya,” sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik and featuring Sameera and Sohail Khan. In the photo, Sameera is seen posing with choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan, with the caption “My first film song in Egypt.”
Farah Khan, who choreographed Sameera in the song, also directed her in her debut film, “Main Hoon Na.” In a recent interaction, Farah mentioned that she had considered Sameera for a role in “Main Hoon Na,” which eventually went to Sushmita Sen. Farah had noticed Sameera in the music video “Ahista” and expressed regret at not casting her due to changed circumstances. Despite missing out on the opportunity, Sameera was thrilled to be considered for the role.
“Maine Dil Tujhko Diya,” directed, produced, and written by Sohail Khan, also stars Sanjay Dutt, Kabir Bedi, and Dalip Tahil in supporting roles. Farah Khan’s visit to Sameera’s house for a YouTube video revealed interesting insights about their professional connection and the missed opportunity for Sameera in “Main Hoon Na.”
