A second suspect involved in the death of a biker who fell into a pit in Janakpuri, West Delhi, has been apprehended by the Delhi Police in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. The accused, identified as Yogesh, works as a supervisor at the location on Joginder Singh Marg, according to police reports.
Yogesh was allegedly present near the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) project pit where the 25-year-old biker, Kamal Dhyani from Kailashpuri, Delhi, tragically lost his life. Investigators believe Yogesh had knowledge of the incident but did not alert anyone for rescue efforts and chose to leave the scene.
In a related development, Rajesh Prajapati, the project’s sub-contractor who was initially arrested for negligence leading to the fatality, has been remanded to police custody for a day by a Delhi court. The police had requested a three-day remand, but the court granted only a one-day custody.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken serious action following the biker’s death, issuing an eight-point safety directive to all executing agencies to prevent such incidents. She emphasized the need for strict enforcement of safety regulations and clear accountability for officers and contractors in charge of such projects.
