Security forces in Manipur are conducting joint combing operations for the third consecutive day to apprehend militants following the death of a BSF constable in Ukhrul district. During these operations, 21 illegally built bunkers were destroyed in the area. Central and state security forces are intensifying search efforts in Ukhrul and neighboring districts to locate the militants responsible for the attack on BSF constable Mithun Mandal, who was ambushed while on duty.

The security personnel paid their respects to the deceased constable before sending his body to his hometown in West Bengal. Additionally, 14 bunkers in Sikibung village and seven in Mongkot Chepu village were demolished by security forces. These bunkers, constructed unlawfully by militant groups, were used for launching attacks on both security forces and civilians in the region.

In a separate operation, arms and explosives were recovered from Maojang, Libung, Gomnom, and T Khonunjang areas in Tengnoupal district near the Myanmar border. The recovered items included pistols, IEDs, combat uniforms, and other equipment, all of which were safely disposed of by the security personnel. Meanwhile, two individuals were arrested in Churachandpur district with a significant quantity of brown sugar and other items in their possession.

Security forces are actively engaged in cracking down on militant activities in Manipur, with ongoing search operations and area dominance exercises in various districts. To enhance surveillance and curb unlawful movements, 109 checkpoints have been established across both valley and hill districts of the state. Convoy protection measures are in place along sensitive routes to ensure the safe passage of vehicles, including those transporting essential goods.

Authorities have advised the public to verify the authenticity of any videos or audio clips circulating on social media and cautioned against sharing misleading content. Manipur Police emphasized the importance of refraining from spreading rumors and warned of legal consequences for disseminating false information online.
