The music of ‘Veer-Zara,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, remains a classic. Composed by the late Madan Mohan, the songs were posthumously featured in the film. Yash Chopra, the late filmmaker, once highlighted how these melodies became integral to the movie’s essence.
A video circulating online captures Yash Chopra discussing the late music composer with Karan Johar. In the video, Chopra revealed the serendipitous events that led to incorporating Madan Mohan’s tunes into the film. He recalled a conversation with Sanjeev, Madan Mohan’s son and also the CEO of his company, where the idea of using the composer’s unreleased tunes emerged.
Chopra elaborated on the unique process of integrating the music into the film. He selected a dozen tunes from the collection and creatively matched them to the movie’s scenes. With Javed Akhtar penning the lyrics, the songs beautifully complemented the narrative, adding a poetic touch to the cinematic experience.
