Shiv Sena supremo and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized that Mumbai cannot be separated from Maharashtra, dismissing claims made by Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray. Speaking at a rally for the BMC elections, Shinde urged support for the Mahayuti alliance to secure victory and elect a BJP mayor. He framed the upcoming BMC election as crucial in combating corruption and promoting development.
Shinde criticized the recent alliance between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray as a strategic move driven by the fear of losing control over BMC. He positioned his faction as the true Shiv Sena, accusing the opposing faction of compromising on Hindutva principles. Highlighting completed projects like the Coastal Road and Atal Setu, Shinde showcased the Mahayuti’s progress compared to the previous administration.
The Deputy Chief Minister contrasted his government’s achievements, including infrastructure projects and direct benefit transfers, with what he described as the stagnation during the MVA government’s tenure. He challenged Uddhav Thackeray’s financial claims and emphasized the importance of serving the Marathi community through economic initiatives. Shinde reiterated his commitment to a development-focused governance model, contrasting it with his opponents’ approach.
