Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, Shiv Sena revealed a list of 40 star campaigners, including Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, and Sushma Andhare. The voting for 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra is set for January 15, with results expected on January 16.
The list of star campaigners also features Subhash Desai, Arvind Sawant, Priyanka Chaturvedi, and Vinayak Raut among others. The party is mobilizing its influential voices to secure local bodies, with a focus on key names and parliamentary faces. Bhaskar Jadhav, Ambadas Danve, and Anil Parab are among the regional heavyweights in the lineup.
Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray are gearing up for their first joint rally in Vikhroli, marking a significant development in Mumbai’s political scenario. This joint effort is part of a series of planned rallies across the state to boost worker morale and prepare for the civic polls. Amit Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray are also scheduled to address joint rallies in Mumbai.
The Shiv Sena and MNS recently unveiled a joint manifesto for the BMC polls, titled ‘Vachan Nama’, outlining promises such as a monthly allowance for domestic workers, affordable housing, free electricity, and reduced bus fares. The manifesto advocates for a “Marathi Mayor” and prioritizes land reservation for “Mumbaikars.”
