A shopkeeper in east Delhi’s Kalyanpuri area was fatally stabbed, and a laborer was injured during a disagreement over charging a mobile phone. The incident took place at an auto repair shop where three individuals requested to charge their phone but were denied by the shop owner, leading to a violent altercation. The shop owner, Veer Singh, was attacked with a knife, resulting in his death, while the laborer, Ram Kishan, was also stabbed when he tried to intervene.
Police have arrested two of the suspects, Yamin and Yaseen, while the third accused is currently on the run. The authorities have registered a case of murder and attempted murder in connection with the incident. The deceased’s brother expressed the family’s desire for justice, emphasizing the loss of life and the need for accountability. BJP MLA Ravi Kant visited the victim’s family, urging stringent action against the perpetrators and highlighting the gravity of such violent acts.
The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the case, including reviewing CCTV footage from the area to locate the absconding suspect. This incident is part of a concerning trend of rising stabbing cases in Delhi-NCR in recent weeks.
