The filming for the movie adaptation of the popular series “Mirzapur” has concluded, with actress Shriya Pilgaonkar expressing her joy at reuniting with the team and reprising her role as Sweety Gupta. Sharing images from the sets and the wrap-up on Instagram, Shriya conveyed her excitement for the upcoming “Mirzapur-The Movie.” Sweety, Shriya’s character, met a tragic end in the first season of the show, killed by Munna Bhaiyya at her own wedding while pregnant.
“Mirzapur” centers around Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, a crime lord and businessman dominating the Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh, India. The first season featured a main cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The second season retains most of the original cast, introducing new members like Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Lilliput, Anjum Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Anangsha Biswas, and Neha Sargam.
Shriya Pilgaonkar is set to appear in the upcoming film “Haiwaan” directed by Priyadarshan, which marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after 18 years. Shriya, known for her work in web series like “Mirzapur,” “Guilty Minds,” “The Broken News,” and “Taaza Khabar,” made her acting debut with the Marathi film “Ekulti Ek” in 2013, earning the Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Debut.
